At this very moment....

I'm watching something that is more than a little disturbing. I am watching streaming video from NASA as they crash a $79M rocket into the moon...$79M...and that's not really the most disturbing part.

The part that bothers me the most is this: Doesn't the moon affect our planet? Tides, weather? Is it really so vitally important to find water on the moon that you risk screwing up the order of nature and the universe?

I guess so. I hope, beyond hope, that they find what they want without too much damage....but I won't be holding my breath. It could take weeks, months, years to truly see the effects of this little science experiment...disturbing.

Edit to add: Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize

Seriously!? For? Lousy explaination for reasoning in my opinion...it's all based on what he wants to do, not what he's actually done. Again....disturbing.

I watched it this morning as well. Couldnt help wonder too if it could be dangerous to us. I had the weird feeling that..what if..it cause some horible disaster. Could it move the moon out of orbit? What if it split the damn thing in two. What kind of reaction would the world have against us if the US screwed the moon up?

Hopefully it has no lasting harmful events, and we are able to gleen the info it was sent there for.

We were talking about that at work today. The moon isn't real big, and it wouldn't take much to knock it's orbit outta whack. That would screw up the tides and other stuff....

Someone wanted me to pass on some info to you, here's the "copy 'n' paste":

If you could pass on a message - SHE SURVIVES is on your blog roll. Her comments section is closed to Anonymous postings.

Please tell her to begin drinking apple juice 3 times a day to dissolve the gallstones.

She needs to do it for about 2 weeks to a month.

My work is done here ; )
